Today’s Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Many people wish they could hear God speak more clearly. The good news is that He already has. God has given us His Word as one of the primary ways He communicates with His people. Scripture reveals His character, His promises, His wisdom, and His purposes.
Paul reminds Timothy that all Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, correcting, guiding, and equipping believers.
The Bible is much more than a collection of stories or religious teachings. It is God’s living message to His people.
When we regularly read Scripture, we begin seeing life through God’s perspective rather than our own. His truth challenges our assumptions, strengthens our faith, and directs our decisions.
The goal is not simply gaining information. The goal is transformation.
As you read, ask these simple questions:
- “What is God saying to me?”
- “What does this reveal about Him?”
- “Is there a command to obey?”
- “Is there a promise to trust?”
- "Is there a sin to confess?”
These questions move Bible reading from information gathering to life application.
God’s Word is one of His greatest gifts. Through it, He continues to speak, guide, encourage, and transform His people. The question is not whether God is speaking. The question is whether we are listening.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
Before reading Scripture today, ask God to show you one truth He wants you to understand and apply.
PRAYER
Father, thank You that You have already spoken through Your Word. As I open Scripture, help me listen. Show me Your character, Your promises, and Your truth. Move me beyond gathering information to being transformed by what You reveal. Speak, Lord; I am listening.
