Today’s Scripture: Matthew 4:18-22
Peter, Andrew, James, and John were ordinary fishermen going about an ordinary day when Jesus walked into their lives and changed everything.
What makes their response remarkable is not what they knew—it is what they were willing to trust.
When Jesus called them, He did not hand them a detailed future plan. He did not explain every challenge they would face or every destination they would visit. He simply said, “Come, follow me.”
Yet they left their nets and followed.
Most of us prefer certainty before commitment. We want answers before action. We want guarantees before obedience. But throughout Scripture, God often reveals His will one step at a time. He asks us to trust His character before we fully understand His plans.
The disciples learned who Jesus was by walking with Him. They discovered His faithfulness through experience. They learned to trust Him by taking one step after another.
The same is true for us.
There may be areas of your life where God is asking you to trust Him today. Perhaps it involves a relationship, a decision, a ministry opportunity, or a step of obedience you have been delaying. You may not have every answer, but you do know the One who is leading you.
Faith is not having complete understanding. Faith is trusting Jesus enough to take the next step. God rarely reveals the entire path ahead. He simply invites us to walk with Him.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
What step of obedience have you been delaying because you want more certainty? Ask God for the courage to trust Him and take one practical step forward today.
PRAYER
Lord, You rarely show me the whole path at once. Like the disciples who left their nets, help me trust You enough to take the next step. Give me courage to follow before I fully understand, knowing the One who leads me is faithful.
