Only God!
I can’t stop that thought from immediately rising in my mind many times a day right now. It is so hard to believe that I have been pastor here at NewPointe for 40 years. Where did the time go? And how did this happen? Only God.
It has been an incredible journey for me, for you, for so many who are already enjoying the rewards of heaven and eternity, and for our community. It has been amazing to see what God has done. It has been far beyond what we could have expected on our own. But that is our great God. He always does above and beyond anything we can ask or expect. Based on His record for faithfulness throughout the ages and to us over the past forty years, I do believe that our best days are yet ahead of us as we continue to believe and express our faith through obedience to our Great God.
I want to thank each of you for the difference you have made in my life and the life of my family. I always wanted to pastor a church that my family wanted to attend. That has been the case. Our kids have looked forward to going to church, and because of the ministry of many of you, they love the church as adults. Thanks for helping to create an environment where they always wanted to come. They all love the church with all of its imperfections and flaws.
Your continual trust, support, and commitment to reach people who are far from God, your willingness to give to projects, campuses, and causes that you may never personally benefit from, much less know the people we reach, is greatly appreciated and very humbling. My gratitude for your gifts cannot be overstated.
Though God has done exceedingly above and beyond what I could have ever dreamed, I believe with all my heart we are not finished yet. I believe He is still calling us to trust Him for even more ministry here is eastern Ohio and beyond. You are working with God to help populate heaven and to enrich the lives of people while they are on the journey.
Know that I love you so much. My heart is full as I think of you, and my gratitude knows no end. I am excited to see how God is going to use NewPointe as we continue to partner in inspiring our family and friends to faithfully follow Jesus.
