But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 MSG
God cares enough to respond to and reward those who diligently seek Him. That is a stupendous promise, one we should enthusiastically and wholeheartedly embrace. How can we do that?
Choose heartfelt trust. Seeking God involves more than just intellectual acknowledgement; it requires a heartfelt trust and confidence in His promises. This is not a “one and done.” You will have challenges, and you will need to return to your choice again and again. You choose to trust GOD, not your evidence.
Believe in His existence, His greatness, His goodness, and His generosity. Believe that God exists and that He actively and generously rewards those who pursue Him with their whole hearts.
Spend time with God. Relationships and trust grow with time spent. Specifically and intentionally dedicate time to spend with God, allowing His presence to become very real to you, filling your life, and directing your choices. Reflect on His Word. Listen to what He says to your heart. Make this your Source of wisdom and direction.
Pray consistently. Talk to Him all day. He cares about every detail. Nothing is too big or too small.
Embrace your journey. Understand that life has choices and consequences. Your choices and efforts to seek Him will lead to a deep and fulfilling relationship that enables you to overcome. You will be empowered to see your circumstances as opportunities, not obstacles, because your faith is in the HIM, not in outcomes. You will become a kingdom builder, a giver, not a taker. You will become a valued co-worker in fulfilling His mission in the world.
- I want to know You more, Father. I want to embrace the life of faith that draws me into a life of satisfaction and fulfillment. My faith will make me more and more effective and useful in building Your Kingdom. I want to make You and Your character and love visible and understandable to the world.
