YOUTH BASKETBALL

Our recreational league focuses on fun, friends, and physical activity. Coaches teach the foundational skills of the game, and teams compete with highly modified and developmentally appropriate rules. All coaches are trained through our More Than A Game philosophy and develop skills through the Positive Coaching Alliance. This fun and low-pressure environment allows families to request coaches and friends to enhance the social experience.

Our workshop provides a unique opportunity to hone core basketball skills, guided by experienced coaches who are dedicated to each player's improvement and reaching their full potential.



Winter Basketball Workshop

January 30 - March 13, 2025 | Boys in Grades 7-8 

Registration is open and closes January 9
This six-week workshop offers boys in grades 7-8 the opportunity to develop essential basketball skills under the guidance of experienced coaches. Scheduled for Thursday evenings, each two-hour session is designed to cater to players of all skill levels, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for skill enhancement and growth.

  • Cost is $40 and includes a reversible jersey and shorts
  • Practices and games are held once per week on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30 PM
  • Awards will be given to top team(s)
  • Equipment needed: Water bottle and proper footwear

Basketball Winter League

January 13 - March 15, 2025 | Boys & Girls Grades K-6

Registration is closed

  • Cost is $85 and includes a practice T-shirt, game uniform, and award
  • Practices are once per week on either Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday nights
  • Gameplay for all divisions is 5 v 5, with all players receiving equal playing time
  • There are seven Saturday game days that begin on January 25

Grades K-1 Boys

  • Cost: $85
  • Practice: 60 minutes per week 
  • Basketball Size: 4 (25.5”)
  • Hoop height: 7.5’
  • Coaches allowed on the court
  • Coaches are referees
  • Two 18-minute halves, continuous clock
  • No score kept
  • Minimum age for basketball is 5 years old

Grades K-1 Girls

  • Cost: $85
  • Practice: 60 minutes per week 
  • Basketball size: 4 (25.5”)
  • Hoop height: 7.5’
  • Coaches allowed on the court
  • Coaches are referees
  • Two 18-minute halves, continuous clock
  • No score kept
  • Minimum age for basketball is 5 years old

Grades 2-3 Boys

  • Cost: $85
  • Practice: 60 minutes per week 
  • Basketball size: 5 (27.5”)
  • Hoop height: 8.5’
  • Coach allowed on the court
  • One Referee
  • Two 18-minute halves, continuous clock
  • Team standings not kept

Grades 2-3 Girls

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Recreational League: Boys in grades ranging kindergarten (minimum of age 5) through grade 6 and girls in grades ranging from kindergarten (minimum of age 5) through grade 6 can register for basketball.
Workshop: Boys in grades 7 and 8.
Registration for the 2025 Winter Basketball League is $85, which includes a practice t-shirt, game uniform and award.

Registration for the 2025 Basketball Workshop is open and closes January 9, 2025.
Recreational: Practices are one hour weekly. Games are one hour on Saturdays.
Workshop: Two-hour sessions on Thursday evening include practices and games.

    • Rosters are formed by the Armor Sports staff based on registration requests, registrant geographic location, ages, and experience levels of each team member. We strive for competitive balance in each division.
    Get the Team Snap app! Team Snap is our go to communication tool for families, coaches, and administrators. All post registration information such as schedules, rosters, league calendar, and league updates take place in Team Snap. If you have recently registered for any Armor Sports league, download Team Snap (App Store or Google Play) and look for the invitation email once rosters are released.
    Contact us at armorsports@newpointe.org. A 100% refund will be issued before registration closes. After registration closes, a 50% refund will be issued.
